Working with the body can contact the deeply-held feelings, emotions and beliefs which lie below our day-to-day understanding. It can help release old patterns that hold us back, and liberate energy for new movement and growth.

Deep Bodywork invites you on a journey into your body by using attention, awareness, breath and touch. It helps you to find a way to listen to your body’s messages, and to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. The body is a physical expression of who we are as individuals and what we have been through. Past experience, trauma, and suppressed emotion are all stored in the body memory, and while kept in the unconscious can manifest in the form of tension, pain or illness. Through working consciously it is possible to work with energetic, emotional and physical ‘blocks’ in the body and the self, aiming to free up vital energy and provide a way forward in life.

Postural Integration (PI) is a way of working with the body through deep touch. It works intensely with the structures of the body to encourage optimum release. PI can be included in Deep Bodywork sessions if and when appropriate. It is simply another way of encouraging awareness of the self, and can have profound and lasting effects.
